Focus and Scope
The Jaffna Medical Journal’s mission is to stimulate, encourage and empower doctors, researchers and other health professionals to publish high quality research in order to promote evidence based medicine and improve health care. The journal publishes peer-reviewed work in all areas of Medicine. It publishes Original Research, Review Articles and Case Reports.
Advertising
The JMJ accepts display and classified advertising. It reserves the right to reject any advertisements considered unsuitable according to the set policies of the journal and guidelines related to medical advertising laid down by the Government of Sri Lanka. The advertising and product information in Journal does NOT constitute and endorsement or approval by the journal or the publisher of the quality or value of the said product or of claims made for it by the manufacturer.
Publication Frequency
The Jaffna Medical Journal publishes two issues per year.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There is no embargo on the journal’s publications.
Authors of articles published transfer the copyright to the Jaffna Medical Journal. JMJ uses a Creative Commons licence which grants third parties the right to use, reproduce, and share the article according to the Creative Commons license agreement.
Archiving Policy
This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
History
The previous title of the journal was The Journal of the Jaffna Clinical Society.
